Temptation of Jesus in the Wilderness
After Jesus was Baptized he was led into the wilderness for 40 days and to be fasted, not eat for a long time, so he cold focus on the temptations he was about to face.
The first time Jesus was tempted by Satan was In Luke 4:3 Jesus when told by Satan to turn a stone into bread if he really was the messiah. Jesus replied with "Man does not live by bread alone" Then Jesus continued on. That basically translates to him saying that man doesn't need read alone but he needs faith in Christ, and not literally does he man not need bread (Cauley)

The second time was in Deuteronomy 6:13 when Satan told him that all he had to do was to fall to his knees and worship him and he was promised the world, but Jesus replied with "You shall worship the Lord your God and him only shall you serve" (Zavada). That means that no one should worship and follow a fake god or anything other than God himself because there is only one god.

The final time was when Satan quoted psalms 91:11-13 and promised him if he jumped his angles would save him and he would be unscathed And again he came back with "You shall not put the Lord your God to the test." Which means that he should not test god and see what he is capable of what he is doing because he can do anything.

Theme Connection Between Jesus and Good VS. Evil
Every time Jesus was able to resist and say no to Satan because there was a greater force of good than the evil of Satan. In all three cases Jesus was tempted by a very powerful man to do ungodly things. Yet every time he was temped Jesus came back with even stronger words. The first case Jesus was told to use is powers and make food for himself, next was to fall on his knees and worship Satan, and third was to jump off a high place. Every time Jesus was able to overcome evil and good prevailed. The Good being the will that Jesus had to say no to the evil, or the devil.
